    A retelling of Hades and Persephone. In the upper city Persephone is living her life with a mask just trying to live and tell her 25 birthday. When she find out that her mother Dionysus set her to the Hera and marry Zeus.  So she chose to run from the upper city to the lower city crossing over the river Styx into the arms of the Hades a myth and bogy man of the upper city.  She finds herself in the middle of a war that has been on the brink of raging for many years. But in that she makes a deal with Hades to be at his mercy and she finds herself loving being his pet. But in the upper city Zeus and her mother both are trying to put a stop to it. 

    I loved this book I give this 4.5 stars out of 5. It is a adult book with lots of sex so this is not for kids but if you like some spice then give it a try.

And stop and look at the page going what the hell did I just read. The fact that it was about real women. who lost there teeth and jaws to this to  Radium. Women and girls who lost there life's to radium. I know that from the start of the book having know that but reading about the  pain and struggle that these women went though to prove it was something bad. It was shocking and down right gross at parts of this book almost made me put it down but I wanted to find out if they got it because I knew they did but in the story your with them. when they lose a person in there group to it you feel the sadness too. Finding herself growing in her gifts and finds herself feeling for both a young priest named David and Jas her best friend. Will she be able to help her friend and also love him as well. Or will she fight to even be herself. This is a young adult fantasy and also christian horror. It been a wile since I have read a book that thrilled me like this book did. I still give this book a 3.5 out of 5 it not something I wound pick up normally. But this book made me think a lot about my faith and how it has gone over

         This might be called sleeping beauty but this is not the sweet child story we all grew to love. If you do not like book that have sex, torture, or just make you feel as if you have just read something gross this is not the book for you. I have grown up reading Anne Rice's other works and because I love her work I trust her as an another that even these book will be good is a weird way. It just weird and hurts my brain in parts. other part have me just closing the book in shock from the graphic sex/ torture in it. Yet other part have me hoping with the next page turn it will it get any better for Beauty because in her new life.
