The Highwayman (Victorian Rebels #1) by Kerrigan Byrne

Image
The Highwayman (Victorian Rebels #1) by   Kerrigan Byrne   I love historical romance royals, lovely ladies, and the fashion of it all. It just something I have always loved and this book had that.  This book also had the story of love lost and found for the two lovers in this book.  As children  Farah and  Dougan marred each other and promised each other that when they grew up but they got separated because he saved Farah from a priest. 17 years later Farah was working for the law and find herself face to face with  Dorian Blackwell. Will he help her find her old love? Will he help her find herself? Or will he drive her up the wall to the point were it is a fate worse then death? I enjoyed this book giving it 4 out of 5 stars. This was a good romance novel and plan to read more from Kerrigan Byrne. Happy reading.

Image
Little Women (Little Women #1) by   Louisa May Alcott This is a classic coming of age story for young women . This year I am trying to  read 12 classics  stories  and this one was the first I chose to read.  I love the story of  Jo, Beth, Meg, and Amy growing up and starting there lives.  Finding love, exploring the world , and finding themselves.    I loved this story I give this 5 out of 5  . As a writer I loved Jo and learned  from her not putting down the other girls in the story but I  could still learn from them as well.  This is a classic  so it something everyone should read . So happy reading .

Ice and Embers (Steampunk Fairy Tales #1) by Melanie Karsak

Image
Ice and Embers (Steampunk Fairy Tales #1) by   Melanie Karsak This was a retelling of snow queen with a steampunk vibe or at the vary least that what the title says.  This story is good but I really did not  see anything about the story the snow queen it was more of a love triangle with  Lord  John , Doctor Kai and Elyse. Lord John and Elyse were lover and then there was Kai who was her best friend since they were  children.  Elyse worked as a actress in a threader being one of there stars that season. The night of one of her prominence after she was spending time with her best friend Kai when he was called to save someone who had fallen into the freezing water of the frozen  lake. The worked together to save the man. who later saves her from making a huge change that would change her life.  I liked this story for what it was and give it 3.5 stars out of five. But in this book was in a collection of stories that I though sounded fun to read about Christmas. This story  was a  Christmas  mystery that involves children going missing and a weird Christmas monster  that seams to take them leaving behind a golden pear, five gold rings, and other things from the song the 12 days of Christmas. I came into the story thinking it was going to be a romance  and stayed for the story and loving the ending.  I give this book 4 out of 5 stars for the mystery and the love in this story.
